Update News: Dispatch Mode
One of the biggest updates this year. With this update, we're finally bringing you our dispatch mode, which we've been working on, testing, and trying out a wide range of technologies for over a year. Dispatch mode is free for all players, even without PRO.
Important: All players who currently have an active PRO status were credited with 200 coins at launch to test voice mode. This is compensation, since the game mode was originally planned only for PRO users but is now available to everyone.
Dispatch mode was meant to be part of RescueOperator from the very beginning. We wanted to make taking emergency calls and dispatching our units as interactive and immersive as possible.
We've come up with two models for the emergency call system. There's a text mode. You speak (or type) and get personalized answers to your questions. This makes it feel like you're on a call, and it's completely free. The voice mode, also known as phone mode: Here, you have a live phone conversation and get spoken answers to your questions, as if the caller were actually on the phone.
The problem with phone mode is the cost. AI language models are pretty expensive to use. So over the past few months, we’ve built our own system to bring the cost down from an initial 12 cents per minute to 2 cents per minute. Even so, an hour of phone calls costs about a dollar.
We’ll keep working to reduce costs over the next few months.
